Designed with a 5/32” by 1/8th of an inch opening to have the smallest opening for leaf protection, such as defense from maple tree seeds (helicopter seeds) and other small debris that builds up over time to clog water flow and begin growth in your gutters. Unprotected gutters over time will gather debris and seeds from surrounding trees and becomes an ideal incubator for germination and unless properly maintained will produce unsightly growing of plants in your gutters but more importantly impedes the proper flow of water. Without proper water flow and drainage, water will back up in the gutters causing excessive weight, which may cause the gutters to tear away from the fascia board. Water will also begin to overflow and causing soil damage along your foundation.
